We are the 21st Strood Scout Group. We are based in Strood. The Group started in December 1977 under the wing and guidance of the 1st Medway Broomhill Scout Group. In December 1978 the group became 21st Medway with one Cub Pack - Wolf Pack. Ann Pearce was the first Cub Pack Leader and was assisted by Sue Pearce and Roger Somers. Mollie Sclater was the Chairperson of the Group. The Group progressed and within three years the Scout Troop and another Cub Pack (Beaver Pack) were started. In 1986 the Venture Unit was started with Elaine Reynolds as the Leader. The first Beaver Colony was Zodiac Colony. Shortly after the start of the Beaver Colony, Beaver Cub Pack changed its name to Lion Pack. The Group changed from 21st Medway to 21st Strood in April 1988. Since then the Group has gone from strength to strength and now has three Cub Packs, two Beaver Colonies and one Scout Troop.
